Andrzej Stuart-Thompson

Andrzej Stuart-Thompson is a UK-based PT-ENG translator, editor and academic. He completed his DPhil thesis in Modern and Medieval Languages (Portuguese) at the University of Oxford, and now works as a Global Encounters Fellow at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen in Germany.

His research and translation interests include twentieth and twenty-first century Portuguese women’s poetry, and literature and non-fiction from Portugal and Brazil which engage with ecological and sci-fi themes. He also translates academic texts from the fields of literary criticism, cultural studies, and philosophy.

His published translations include: 'Song of Emerging Homeland and Other Poems' by Natália Correia (Shantarin, 2026), 'My Verse, My Voice: Poems Written by Women Fado Singers' (Shantarin, 2026), and 'First Person: Women Writers and Artists in Revolution' (Shantarin, 2026).
