Isobel Foxford
I’m Isobel Foxford, a literary translator working from Portuguese and Spanish into English. I translate fiction, non-fiction, academic writing and theatre. I also offer reader's reports for English-language publishers and literary agents, and have worked for English PEN for a number of years as an assessor for the PEN Translates award.
My translations have been published with Asymptote, Cambridge University Press, ICOM Magazine and Relógio d'Água. I have worked for the Royal Court as a reader of Portuguese-language plays, and was selected by Foreign Affairs for the Theatre Translation Mentorship. My main interests are contemporary Brazilian fiction and the work of underrepresented writers.
