Vania Gomes is a writer and translator based between London and Brazil. She was a language teacher and managing partner of The Academy of Languages, a language institute in São Paulo, for 28 years, which also provided translation and interpretation services. She holds an MA in Modern Literature from Birkbeck College and completed a one-year specialisation course in translation and interpretation at P.U.C, the Catholic university in São Paulo. She translates contemporary literary fiction from Brazil.
