Beth Hickling-Moore
I’m a literary and creative translator from Portuguese, Spanish and Italian into English. I translate fiction, poetry and creative non-fiction, including content for art galleries, film and theatre. I also offer reader’s reports for English-language publishers and literary agents.
My work has been published or is forthcoming in journals including Modern Poetry in Translation, Asymptote, Circumference, Latin American Literature Today and The Hooghly Review. My next translation, Rokia's 'Disorder', from the Italian, is out now as an Audible Original.
Beyond my translation work, I’m an accredited Specialised Leader in Education with The Department for Education and an SSAT-certified Lead Practitioner. I spent ten years in the secondary school classroom and now use my experience in education, both in Modern Foreign Languages and more broadly, to provide consultancy services and training to primary and secondary schools. I also offer talks, workshops and assemblies for schools looking to elevate the profile of Modern Foreign Languages and MFL careers in schools, for events such as European Day of Languages.
